House Rules and Important Information

Guests and Use of the Cottage

The cottage accommodates up to three guests, with one double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. Please agree the number of guests with us when booking.

The cottage is for holiday accommodation only. Bookings must not be sublet, assigned or transferred, and no more people may stay than agreed at the time of booking.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage. Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Please dispose of cigarette ends safely and do not leave them in the garden or around the property.

Dogs

One or two dogs are welcome by prior written agreement, at a charge of £25 per dog per stay. Dogs must be kept under control at all times and must not sleep on beds or chairs.

Children and dogs must be supervised at all times.

Cats

Cats require our written approval before booking. The grounds are not enclosed, and the cottage has no specialist measures to prevent cats escaping.

Guests are responsible for supervising and securing their cats, including using a secure carrier on arrival and departure and securing them before any agreed cleaning or maintenance visit.

We do not provide pet supervision or boarding. These rules do not exclude or limit liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Noise and Gatherings

The cottage is in a peaceful residential area. Please be considerate of neighbours and avoid excessive noise, especially between 10pm and 9am.

Parties or social gatherings in the cottage or garden require our written agreement in advance.

Safety in the Grounds

Please take care around the courtyard, the pond in the garden and the concrete steps between the lawn and summerhouse. The steps can be slippery when wet.

The cottage occupies a hilltop location within the courtyard of Dunaird House and is close to the main house and outdoor seating area.

Fire Safety

Please read the fire safety information provided before arrival and in the cottage, and familiarise yourself with the exits and fire safety equipment.

If the fire alarm sounds or another emergency occurs, leave the cottage promptly and follow the guidance provided.

Candles and tea lights must not be lit inside the cottage. The fireplace is decorative only and must not be used for a real fire.

Looking After the Cottage

Please treat the cottage, garden, furnishings and equipment with care, and leave everything reasonably clean and tidy at the end of your stay.

Report any breakages, damage or problems as soon as possible so that we can arrange repairs or replacements.

Charges may apply for loss or damage beyond reasonable wear and tear, or for additional cleaning where the cottage has not been left reasonably clean and tidy.
